The Mindset of High Achievers

Don't just inspire to make a living, inspire to make a difference.

Anything you want, you can have. Proclaim it. Work hard to get it. When you get it, reach back and pull someone else up. Each one, teach one.

Just because you're doing a lot more, doesn't mean you're getting a lot more done. Don't confuse movement with progress.

Many times, our common excuse to not start on something is because we lacked something. For example, we always say we want to do something, but we don't have the time. We want to start a business, but don't have the cash. But do you realise that you didn't start because of what you don't have. In reality, you don't start because you didn't realise yet that the fruit of everything good in life begins with a challenge. There's nothing easy in life, things aren't going to fall into your lap and you going “oh my it's so easy!”. Rather, it's going to be difficult.

The only way to get to the other side of your journey, is to suffer. To grow, you must suffer. Most of this generation quit the moment they hear from someone: “You're doing this wrong” and then they quit. You must possess the self-discipline, the ability to be able to do something, even though you don't really want to do it. If you can get through to doing things you hate to do, on the other side is greatness awaiting you.

To begin on your amazing journey to the other side, you must first have dreams and life goals. Set daily goals, monthly goals, yearly goals, and understand that to achieve these goals, you must apply discipline and consistency. Every day. Plan your route to achieve your goals, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Hard work works. working really hard is what successful people do.

Next, besides hard work, you also need to ensure that you have the necessary skills to carry out what you set to do. Are you doing anything to develop yourself? 99% of people assume that somehow they will get better. But let me tell you something about assumptions, assumptions are a huge disappointment. Think about it, do you assume something that will happen in your life, and when it didnt, you were disappointed?

Be uncomfortable every day of your life. Sometimes, we run away from truth. The only way to be successful to run towards the truth. As painful as it is, it will change you for the better. For example, if you think you lack knowledge in something, then educate yourself in the area you are pursing.

People saying unkinds things to you? It's ok. Let them say what they want. They do not own your life. What matters is how you control that and how are you going to turn things around and show them what you're worth and that you're not somebody to be belittled upon. How? Just become more of who you want to be. The greatest barrier in our lives, is actually our “self”. However, don't be afraid of that reflection in the mirror. That's all you can ever be afraid of. Once you overcome that reflection in the mirror, you would have done it.

Here's a hard truth for you. People don't necessarily want you to succeed. The bigger your dream, the more there are people going to come out from nowhere to hinder your progress. Oliver Emberton once said, “The only way to avoid pissing people off, is to do nothing important.” But if you're striving for something important, if you're trying to make real change, if there's something in your life you are hell-bent to make happen, you have got to understand that you will be fighting against something, people are going to be pushing back against you. It is your ability to hold true to that vision that's going to determine whether you are going to pull it off.

People somehow want their grand change they are going to make to be loved by people. They also want others to follow and see their vision and want you to lead them. However, that's not the way that people work. Having a vision already puts you in an incredibly rare group of people being able to see something that other people can't see. But do understand, that even when you build an army, you are going to face an opposing force. Mark Twain also once said, “Keep away from people that belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that. But the really great ones, they make you believe that YOU too can become great.” That's the kind of people you want to surround yourself with. You want to surround yourself with people that believe in you. You want to surround yourself with people that when they even can't see your vision, they see you. Even when they don't understand what you are trying to build, they still believe in you and they are willing to fight the opposing forces with you. When you are able to galvanize people around your idea and push it forwad, and pave the world not for what it is, but what it could be, that's when you can make change. One thing you must know, you can't be afraid to piss people off. You have to be willing to fight for your cause.
